Durango, CO – Cobalt Automation Inc., a Durango-based electronic systems contractor, was recently recognized by the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) as the Gold Winner in the Electronic Lifestyles Designer Awards category Best Technical Design Integrated Home - Level IV. Entries were submitted from companies throughout the world, as CEDIA is an international trade organization with over 3,500 members that specialize in designing and installing electronic systems for the home and the awards are highly regarded worldwide.
Rick Gaskell, Cobalt Automation Inc., founder and president, was joined by his Senior Designer, John Baker, in accepting the award during the CEDIA Electronics Lifestyles Awards banquet in Denver. The Electronic Lifestyles Designer Awards are considered the most prestigious in the $6 billion1 industry and are presented annually in recognition of member companies that exemplify outstanding integration of systems and meet their clients’ home technology needs. The process of the awards judging has developed over the last few years to appreciate not only technically-correct installations, but also aesthetically designed installations. Two panels, the Design Panel consisting of members from the American Institute of Architects (AIA), American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), and the Technical Panel consisting of peer Electronic Systems Contractors, evaluated the entries and scored them on technical merit and design/aesthetics. All winners will appear in Electronic Lifestyles magazine which is distributed to architects, interior designers, building designers and builders throughout the United States.
Cobalt Automation Inc. recently was also awarded the 2008 Innovative Home Technology Award for Integrator Excellence: Mountain Region, presented by TecHome Builder magazine. For this award, TecHome Builder and CE Pro magazine editors pored through hundreds of applicants to choose winners based on overall quality, presentation and value to builders.
